March 2021 Conservation Commission Action

The Missouri Conservation Commission met March 25 for a budget workshop and closed executive session at Shoal Creek Conservation Education Center in Joplin and on March 26 for its regular open meeting at Roaring River State Park in Cassville.

Administration

The Commission:

  • Approved associated action items from the Regulations Committee report including setting an elk-hunting season for 2021.
  • Approved recommendations for 2021 dove season dates and limits and 2021-22 migratory bird season dates and limits.
  • Approved recommendations for a 2021 black-bear hunting season, including quotas.
  • Approved the consideration of nominations of individuals for recognition as Master Conservationists.
  • Approved the advertisement and sale of an estimated 1,357,223 board feet of timber located on 473 acres of Compartment 3, Coldwater Conservation Area in Wayne County.
  • Approved reinstatement of hunting privileges of Trevor D. Barnes of Braymer with requirement to complete Hunter Safety Certification.
  • Suspended or revoked one or more hunting, fishing, trapping, or other privileges of 3 individuals for cause:
    1. Nolan J. Kowalski, Robertsville, Hunting, 3 Years;
    2. James D. Shetler, Mountain Grove, All Sport, 1 Year; and
    3. Devin J. Williams, St. Robert, All Sport, 1 Year.
  • Set the next regular meeting for May 21, 2021.
