JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) encourages Missourians to discover nature this winter with an iconic American raptor: the bald eagle. Runge Conservation Nature Center will offer Eagle Adventure activities on Feb. 1, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., including lobby activities for all ages, and live eagle presentations at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 2 p.m.
Visitors who want to see these powerful birds of prey in the wild can take a short trip from Runge Conservation Nature Center to a nearby viewing location where, weather permitting, staff will have spotting scopes set up to see eagles in their natural habitat.
“Bald eagles have a way of capturing our attention and our hearts – for many good reasons,” said MDC Runge Conservation Nature Center Manager Kevin Lohraff. “The Eagle Adventure activities at Runge Nature Center and offsite viewing locations offer the opportunity for people to see live eagles up-close, to learn about them, and to observe them in the wild. What a great way to celebrate one of Missouri’s conservation success stories!”
The Runge Conservation Nature Center is located at 330 Commerce Drive in Jefferson City.
