Clinton, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will host a free youth turkey hunting clinic and hunt to introduce youths ages 11-15 to the sport.  The clinic will be held 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, at MDC’s Clinton office, 2010 South Second Street. Information about the hunt on April 7 will be shared with clinic participants, and youths must attend the clinic to participate in the hunt.

At the clinic, MDC staff will teach shotgun skills, hunting safety, turkey habits and habitats, basic turkey hunting strategies, calling tips, and hunting regulations. There will also be crafts. MDC can provide shotguns and shells for shooting training, or youths may bring their own shotgun that they plan to use while hunting. Free breakfast and lunch will be provided.

For the hunt, MDC staff and experienced volunteers will take the youths on a guided turkey hunt in the Clinton area.

Registration is required. For more information or to register, call 660-885-6981.
