COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) invites women to attend a free workshop on the basics of firearms and shooting. The program will take place May 1 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Prairie Grove Shotgun Sports, 1420 Callaway County Road 276, east of Columbia.

This course is for women, taught by women, and designed to offer a comfortable and approachable learning environment. The flow of the workshop, designed for women with little to no firearms experience, will allow for many questions and will be driven by what attendees want to know most.

MDC will offer training on handguns, shotguns, and rifles, with plenty of shooting practice and one-on-one guidance built into the course. Students will learn about firearms parts and operation, ammunition, gun safety, and shooting fundamentals.

Women ages 16 years and older may register and attend this workshop, however, participants younger than 18 years must be accompanied by an adult.

Space is limited and participants must register for this free workshop by visiting mdc-event-web.s3licensing.com/Event/EventDetails/156602
