WINONA, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation’s (MDC) Twin Pines Conservation Education Nature Center in Winona will host Eagle Days Thursday, Jan. 9. The center has partnered with the Dickerson Park Zoo to bring a bald and a golden eagle to the center. Guests can get an up-close look at the eagles, ask questions and learn fun eagle facts.
“Eagle sightings are on the rise in our area, so we’re offering this opportunity to learn more about them, how to identify them and how to be a friend to them and other wildlife,” said Skyler Bockman, manager of the center.
Bockman said the program is for all ages and reservations are required at mdc.mo.gov/ozarkevents. School groups are welcome to register and attend at 10:30 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. An evening program is scheduled for the general public at 6 p.m.
This is one of several programs scheduled at Twin Pines during their seasonal closure that occurs from Dec. through March. Find program listings at www.mdc.mo.gov/ozarkevents. Trails at the center remain open to visitors during this time.
