HIGH RIDGE, Mo. — The Missouri Department of Conservation’s (MDC) Jay Henges Shooting Range and Outdoor Education Center has extended the closure of its rifle/pistol range to perform necessary repairs to its bullet trap.
MDC is currently engaged in an active search for a repair contractor, which by state law must include a competitive bid/selection process. Repairs will be completed as soon as a contractor has been designated through this process. MDC anticipates the range to be re-opened late summer. The primary goal is to achieve a safe and long-lasting repair at the shooting range facility.
The remainder of Jay Henge’s facilities, including the shotgun trap fields, patterning board, static archery range and outdoor education center building, continue to remain open for normal operating hours and public programs.
