St. Louis area hunters have until July 31 to apply for local managed deer hunts

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) reminds deer hunters wishing to take advantage of managed hunts in the St. Louis area that the deadline for applying is July 31. Currently there are still openings available for the following managed hunts:

  • Hunt #53, Jay Henges Shooting Range in High Ridge, Oct. 21-22 (open only to hunters 18 and older who have never Telechecked a deer)
  • Hunt #69, August A. Busch Shooting Range in St. Charles, Oct. 28-29 (open only to hunters 18 and older who have never Telechecked a deer)
  • Hunt #78, Shaw Nature Reserve in Gray Summit, Oct. 5-6 (open only to women 18 and older who have never Telechecked a deer)

Hunters should note that each of the above-listed hunts also requires attending a pre-hunt orientation.

Missouri offers over 100 managed deer hunts for archery, crossbow, muzzleloading, and modern firearms from mid-September through mid-January, including hunts for youth only and for people with disabilities. The Managed Deer Hunt application period is July 1 through July 31.
